Chinese Myths – Chinese Cupid

We all know that after being struck by Cupid’s Golden Arrow people will fall in love. And there is a god of love in Chinese Mythology, too.

The god of love in Chinese mythology is called the Old Man under the Moon; or briefly “Yue Lao” in Chinese.

This god of love has the Book of Marriage specifically recording who is going to marry whom.

The other important tool for the god of love is the Red Thread of Marriage.

Based on the Book of Marriage, the Chinese Cuipd should tie the Red Thread of Marriage between two people who are meant to become a couple.

This magical invisible Red Thread may stretch or tangle, but never break. The couple who are tied to it will eventually be together. See more Red Thread.

So many single people will worship the god of love, praying to find their other half ASAP.
